Some people share your blood

 Some people share your blood.

Some people show up for your babies.

And the difference matters more than we like to admit.

Family is not just who you’re related to.
It’s who loves your children the way you do.
Who protects their hearts.
Who respects your boundaries.
Who doesn’t compete, minimize, or disappear when things get inconvenient.

You don’t owe access just because of a title.
You don’t owe time to people who drain you and confuse your kids.

Spend your energy where it’s returned.
Spend your holidays, your weekends, your ordinary days with the ones who feel safe.
The ones who love you and your babies back.

Blood makes relatives.
Love makes family.
