The Heierstad building

The Heierstad building in Tønsberg, Norway, is the city and county's oldest profane building. It was built in the Middle Ages (1407). The building consists of a timber room on the ground floor and an attic floor with two timber rooms and corridors on both long walls.
The timber was felled in the winter of 1406 - 07 and the winter before shows a dendrochronological survey carried out by NIKU in 1996. The building was then in all probability built in the year 1407. The house is one of the first buildings built after the Black Death.
