Walter Rodgers


 Walter Rodgers (August 31, 1886- April 24, 1951)

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was an imposing character actor in over 100 features during the silent film era. He was most noted for making a screen career out of portraying Ulysses S. Grant, in director D.W. Griffith's "Abraham Lincoln" (1924), "The Flaming Frontier" (1926), "The Heart of Maryland" and the talkies "Silver Dollar (1932) and "Gold Is Where You Find It" (1938). He died at age 64 in Studio City, California. Rodgers is interred inside the Great Mausoleum at Forest Lawn-Glendale.
