Something I wish

Something I wish someone had told me postpartum is that it is so normal for your baby to need you in ways that feel all-consuming.

If they only want to sleep on your chest, it is not because you are doing something wrong.
It is because you are their whole world.
Your arms are the safest place they have ever known.
Your heartbeat is the first sound they ever loved.
You are their comfort, their home, their everything.
You are not spoiling them.
You are soothing them.
You are doing exactly what they need, just by being you.
