 I’d rather be the mom who double checks everything.

The one who says no when it’s not the popular answer.
The one who gets called “too much” because I care that deeply.

I’d rather be over protective than look back with regret.
I’d rather be the one they roll their eyes at now,
than the one who wishes she would’ve done more later.

Because their safety matters more to me than anyone’s opinion.
Because their life is worth every boundary I set.

I’ll always choose to be the mama who protects first.
Even if it means being the “mean” mom sometimes.
Even if it means standing alone in my choices.

I’d rather be an over protective mama than a sorry one. Every single time.
