I don't care if their clothes match
I don't care if their clothes match.
I don't care if their hair is brushed perfectly every morning.I don't care if their outfit makes sense to anyone but them.
Because childhood isn't about looking picture-perfect.
It's about freedom.
It's about letting them feel proud of the choices they make even if that means a tutu with rain boots, or pajamas to the grocery store.
I know some people roll their eyes.
They think I should be teaching "discipline" or "presentation."
But I think I'm teaching something bigger confidence, independence, and the courage to be themselves without apology.
The truth is, the world will try to box them in soon enough a life It'll tell them how to act, how to look, how to shrink themselves to fit in.
I don't need to be the first one to start that.
So no, my child's outfit doesn't match.
But their smile does.
And that's all that matters to me.
