LITTLE BIG MAN
"LITTLE BIG MAN" --- (1970)
MY THOUGHTS:
When I first watched this epic tale, I was absolutely and forever impressed with Dustin Hoffman. I had never before seen someone playing a role, where they went from young to old, and this one was fantastic; even by the standards, that may have been set, by previous actors who had attempted the same thing. In addition, I was prepared for a Western-themed film, but not a comedy. It was a pleasant surprise. I was taken on a true journey of ups and downs, tears and laughter, as well as hope and disappointment; as the life events of this unusual man, and often-times liar, unfolded. Re-visiting it, I enjoyed it as much (if not more than) the first time. I would highly recommend it.
SYNOPSIS:
"When a curious oral historian turns up to hear the life story of 121-year-old Jack Crabb, he can scarcely believe his ears. Crabb tells of having been rescued and raised by the Cheyenne, of working as a snake-oil salesman, as a gunslinger, and as a mule skinner under Gen. Custer. As if those weren't astonishing enough, he also claims to be the only white survivor of the infamous Battle of the Little Bighorn."

Arthur Penn
AWARDS & OTHER HONORS:
