Queen Grams

 "Queen Grams – Penny Halliwell – is the spirit of the Halliwell clan in Charmed. Although she passed away before the show began, her presence and influence still looms over every generation of witches in the family.

Grams is not only a protector, but also a transmitter of magical knowledge, discipline, and pride in the Halliwell bloodline. She raised the three sisters after their mother died, acting as both a grandmother and a stern mother, ready to make difficult decisions to keep her grandchildren safe.

Grams’s sharpness, sometimes to the point of being “scary,” is what helps the clan overcome generations of fighting evil. Without Grams, Phoebe, Piper, and Prue probably would not have become the proud and strong “The Charmed Ones” we see.

She is the link between the past and the present, the solid foundation for the whole clan. It's hard to imagine what Charmed would be like without the presence and legacy that Queen Grams left behind."
