Who were the inhabitants of ancient Punt

The land of Punt was a place held in high regard by the ancient Egyptians and they would frequently make expeditions there by land and by boat. The Ethnicity of a faction of the inhabitants of the land of Punt was briefly alluded to in the Festival of Min at Medinet Habu. A man who takes part in the Festival
recites a hymn to Min and he is referred to as "nHs n pwnt" which means “Nehesy of Punt". The Nehesy are Nubian Kushites, southern neighboors to Egypt.
In Egyptian autobiography, Punt is also referred to as “land of the horizon-dwellers". This epithet is also for the realm of the Egyptian gods which can be read on the stele of Mentuhotep IV. Punt is never mentioned in negative connotations in Egyptian contemporary writings, unlike the Kushites who were sometimes called the "retched". Punt never waged war against Egypt and they maintained their relationship trading goods.
(Mentuhotep IV Stela)
“O Venerable one, primeval god, foremost of the position in the land of the
horizon-dwellers, the palace of the god is presented with life, the sacred nest of
Horus in which this god is refreshed is his pure place of enjoyment upon the hills
of god’s land.
