We spend so much time getting ready for the baby

We spend so much time getting ready for the baby.

We set up the nursery.
We pack our hospital bags.
We study everything we can about labor.

But no one really talks about what happens after.

No one tells you how your body might feel like a stranger to you.
How your heart aches in ways you never could have prepared for.
How lonely those nights can get, even when you’re holding the most precious little person you’ve ever known.

They don’t warn you about the tears, the guilt, the fear.
They don’t tell you how strong you’ll need to be just to say you need help.
Or how brave you already are for simply getting up and facing another day.

If this is the season you’re in, I see you.
You’re not broken. You’re healing.
And that healing deserves just as much time, care, and gentleness as the birth ever did.

You’re doing such a beautiful job, even when it doesn’t feel like it.
I promise you are.
