 I will not be the reason my child questions their worth.

I will not be the one who teaches them that love is conditional.
I will not be the one who breaks their heart to “toughen them up.”

I will be their soft place to land.
I will be the voice that reminds them they’re enough even on the hardest days.
I will be the arms that never pull away when they need comfort.
I will be the safe space they run to, not the reason they build walls.

Because the world will break them down in a thousand different ways.
But not me.
Never me.

I refuse to be their first heartbreak.
I choose to be their first example of what real love should feel like
gentle, secure, unwavering.

They’ll remember that.
And one day, they’ll choose the people who love them the same way.
