It’s wild how friendships change after you become a mom. Some people stick around and love you even harder. They bring coffee without asking. They don’t care if your house is a mess or if you’re wearing the same leggings three days in a row. They get that plans might get canceled because your kid is sick again. They know sometimes all you have to give is a tired smile and a text back three days later.
But some friendships fade. Not because anyone did anything wrong. Your lives just look different now. They’re talking about concerts and weekend trips and sleeping in. You’re trying to remember the last time you peed alone. It stings a little. Sometimes a lot.Motherhood has this brutal way of revealing who’s truly in it for the long haul. Who can handle the messy, imperfect, exhausted version of you. Who doesn’t flinch when your kid melts down in public.
It’s painful when people drift away. But it also makes room for the kind of friendships that are real. The ones built on grace and patience and showing up exactly as you are. That’s what matters now.
