They call it the fourth trimester for a reason

They call it the fourth trimester for a reason.

Because those first few months after birth feel like survival.

You’re healing.
You’re leaking.
You’re trying to remember who you were before everything changed while holding the tiny human who changed it all.

Your body doesn’t feel like yours.
Your hormones are everywhere.
And your heart? It’s somehow both heavy and overflowing at the same time.

Everyone asks about the baby.
No one asks about the mom.

You’re told to “soak it all in” when you’re barely staying afloat.
You’re expected to be grateful, productive, and smiling when you’re still learning how to stand again.

If you’re in that season…
You’re not alone.
You’re not ungrateful.
You’re just human.
And healing takes time.
