I don’t want my kids to grow up
I don’t want my kids to grow up thinking adulthood means exhaustion and resentment.
I don’t want them to believe love means losing yourself.I want them to see me laugh.
I want them to see me rest.
I want them to see me chase little moments of joy even on the hard days.
Because when they look back, I don’t want them to remember a mom who was always tired and overwhelmed.
I want them to remember a mom who showed them that it’s possible to be both responsible and happy.
That life can be full of chores and bills but also laughter, music, sunsets, and slow mornings.
That love doesn’t have to mean martyrdom.
That adulthood can be soft, if you let it.
