The Four Skulls of Jonathan Drake (1959)
We've got shrunken heads, multiple murders, a curse, (offscreen) beheading, a crypt with a separate compartment for skulls, defaced corpses, a Jivaro Indian with sewn-shut mouth, poison, human skin sandals, the actual process for shrinking the heads, immortality, transplanted heads... So, what went wrong?
Even though all the elements are there for a creepy and nifty horror movie, this keeps feeling like some sort of Mexican, genre melodrama... Even down to the organ music and stings.
Not bad for such a low budget effort (limited cast and sets, but nice effects... at least the ones we actually see,) but if hardly lives up to its horrific potential.
