10 is such a big one

10 is such a big one.

It’s double digits.
It’s the end of little kid years and the start of something new.

10 means independence is blooming.
It means opinions are stronger, friendships matter more, and the world feels both bigger and scarier all at once.

It’s not a baby anymore, not even close.
But it’s still not grown.
It’s this in-between place where they still need you, but they might not always admit it.

10 is messy and beautiful.
It’s laughing until their stomach hurts, slamming doors in frustration, asking deep questions at bedtime, and still cuddling up when no one is watching.

It’s the last year before the teens.
The last year before so much changes.
And I’ll hold on to every single moment of 10.
