Trivia of Robert Wagner (10 February 1930)
*Since teen, always wanting to be an actor, he held a variety of jobs (including one as a golf caddy for Clark Gable) while pursuing his goal, but it was while dining with his parents at a restaurant in Beverly Hills that he was discovered by a talent scout.
*Robert Wagner made his uncredited film debut in The Happy Years (1950) ; was signed by agent Henry Willson and put under contract with 20th Century Fox.
*In 20th Century Fox he found his love, Natalie Wood who 8 years younger than him.Robert Wagner had a plan to propose to Natalie Wood by floating an engagement ring in a glass of champagne. While this wasn’t exactly an original idea it was, in hindsight, incredibly ominous. This was the beginning of a relationship that would be focused on "water and floating".He married Natalie Wood twice (1957 & 1972) .
*He was nearly drowned during filming Beneath the Twelve Mile Reef (1953) at Tarpon Springs, Florida, when he was kicked in the abdomen by another swimmer. He sank to the bottom and had to be rescued by a crew member.

Tracy was so impressed with Wagner, he cast him again as his brother in The Mountain (1956).The two men had 30 years of age and a generation of experience between them yet they hit it off. Perhaps Wagner reminded Tracy of himself during his early years in film.
*He writes in his memoirs that he was miscast in film Prince Valiant (1954).He had many problems with his wig, which he said was ridiculous. Once Dean Martin passed by on the set, he first thought he was talking to Jane Wyman, instead of Robert Wagner, because of the wig.
*In 1967, Universal Pictures convinced Wagner to make his television series debut in It Takes a Thief (1968–1970) on ABC-TV.In this series, he acted with Fred Astaire, who played his father. Wagner was a longtime friend of Astaire, having gone to school with Astaire's eldest son, Peter. Wagner's performance would earn him an Emmy nomination for Best TV Actor.
