Onslow Stevens
Onslow Stevens, March 29, 1902, Los Angeles, CA - January 5, 1977, Van Nuys, CA. He was born into an acting family, and he preferred live theater over film acting. He had some early good moments in film such as "Once in a Lifetime" 1932 with Aline MacMahon, "Peg O'My Heart" 1933 with Marion Davies, "The Secret of the Blue Room" 1933 with Lionel Atwill and Gloria Stuart, "Counsellor at Law" 1933 with John Barrymore, "This Side of Heaven" 1934 with Lionel Barrymore, "The Crosby Case" 1934 with Wynne Gibson, "I'll Tell the World" 1934 with Lee Tracy, but soon he was appearing in Poverty Row fare such as "In Love With Life" 1934 with Lila Lee and "Life Returns" 1934 with Lois Wilson and he never recovered ground as a contender for leading man. He was seen more as a character actor in films and, later, on television. His last screen credit was in 1962 and, overall, he has 121 screen credits from 1931 onwards.
