Motherhood
Motherhood was never supposed to feel like constant survival.
People love to tell us how “strong” we are. How inspiring it is that we push through the sleepless nights, the mental load, the tears we cry in the shower. But the truth is, most of us never wanted to be strong. We didn’t ask for strength to be our story. We wanted softness.
We wanted gentleness.
We wanted the freedom to just enjoy our babies without being forced into resilience by circumstance.
Strength came because it had to. Because there was no other option. But it doesn’t mean we don’t grieve the moments we lost while fighting to hold it all together.
Sometimes the bravest thing a mother can admit is that she doesn’t want to be “strong” anymore. She just wants to be held too.
