CAROL LYNLEY (February 13, 1942 ~ September 3, 2019)

Carol Lynley passed on September 3rd at age 77 (from a heart attack in her sleep). We honor her from her years during the classic era as a fine actress (yet underrated) who starred in many great films. Some of her films included: "The Last Sunset" (1961) opposite Kirk Douglas, Rock Hudson and Dorothy Malone, "The Poseidon Adventure" (1972) opposite Gene Hackman, Shelley Winters, Ernest Borgnine, Red Buttons and Stella Stevens, "Return To Peyton Place" (1961) with Jeff Chandler, Eleanor Parker and Mary Astor, "Under The Yum Yum Tree" (1963) opposite Jack Lemmon and Dean Jones, "The Pleasure Seekers" (1964) with Ann-Margret, Pamela Tiffin, Brian Keith and Gene Tierney, "Blue Denim" (1959) with Brandon De Wilde, "The Cardinal" (1963) with Tom Tryon and Romy Schneider, "Bunny Lake Is Missing" (1965) with Laurence Olivier and Keir Dullea, "The Shuttered Room" (1967) with Gig Young and Oliver Reed, "Once You Kiss A Stranger" (1969) with Paul Burke and Martha Hyer, "The Night Stalker" (1972) with Darren McGavin, "Harlow" (1965) with Efrem Zimbalist, Jr., "Shock Treatment" (1964) with Stuart Whitman, Roddy McDowall and Lauren Bacall, "The Light In The Forest" (1958) with Fess Parker, Joanne Dru and James MacArthur, "The Stripper" (1963) with Joanne Woodward, Richard Beymer and Claire Trevor, "Hound-Dog Man" (1959) with Fabian and Stuart Whitman, "Holiday For Lovers" (1959) with Clifton Webb and Jane Wyman and "Norwood" (1970) with Glen Campbell and Kim Darby.

Carol appeared quite heavily on TV as well through the years and her last feature length film was "A Light In The Forest" in 2003 - (which was the title of her first film in 1958). Full circle if you will. [Lynley also appeared in the short film "Vic" in 2006 which won a Best New Filmmaker award for the late Sage Stallone (son of Sylvester).] She received two Golden Globe nominations - for "The Light In The Forest" (58) and "Blue Denim" (59).

Carol Lynley is survived by her daughter Jill Selsman from her marriage to publicist Michael Selsman. (They were married from 1960 to 1964.) She also had a lengthy relationship with David Frost.
