Victor Tayback
Victor Tayback (January 6, 1930 – May 25, 1990)Tayback was known for his role as diner owner Mel Sharples in both the film Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore (1974) and its television adaptation, Alice, which ran from 1976 to 1985. A lifetime member of the Actors Studio, Tayback was a familiar face on television in the 1960s and 1970s, appearing on numerous series as a character actor. . Tayback appeared in "Mission: Impossible," "Star Trek," "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.," "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," "All in the Family," "The Love Boat," and "Fantasy Island." He also appeared in more than 25 stage productions, including "12 Angry Men," "The Diary of Anne Frank" and "Death of a Salesman." Tayback died of a heart attack in 1990 and is buried at Forest Lawn-Hollywood Hills.
