The older I get

The older I get, the more I pay attention to who shows up for my kids.

Who gets on the floor with them.
Who listens to their stories like they matter.
Who loves them without conditions or competition.
Who makes time instead of excuses.
Who doesn’t disappear when life gets busy.

Those people become my people.

Motherhood didn’t just change how I love.
It changed who I let close.

Because if you show up for my babies with a full heart, I notice.
If you make them feel safe, I notice.
If you choose them even when it’s inconvenient, I notice.

And those are the ones I’m carrying with me into the next year.
The ones who love my kids like they’re their own.
The ones who don’t just talk about being family
but actually show it.
