It’s not my turn to sleep in

It’s not my turn to sleep in.

It’s not my turn to chase dreams without checking the clock.
It’s not my turn to put my wants and needs at the top of the list.

But it is my turn.

It’s my turn to rock little bodies that only want mama.
To answer a thousand questions before 9 a.m.
To pour my love into tiny moments that may never be seen but are always felt.

It’s my turn to witness the magic of firsts.
To hold hands that still reach for me without hesitation.
To soak up this exhausting, beautiful, raw season of motherhood.

This won’t always be my turn.
But right now, it is.
And I’m holding it close.

Even on the hard days.
Even when I miss the old me.
Because one day, I’ll miss this me too.
