I knew when I became a mom

I knew when I became a mom things would change but it’s not just your body that shifts.

It’s your heart.
Your mind.
Your entire identity.

There’s a word for it. Matrescence.
It’s like puberty, but for moms.
It’s messy. It’s emotional.
It’s a total transformation.

Some days you miss the old version of you.
The one who had more time. More energy.
The one who didn’t carry the weight of a thousand invisible tasks.
And that’s okay.

You can love your baby more than anything
and still feel like you’re grieving the woman you used to be.
You are not lost.
You are becoming someone new.

Give yourself grace as you grow into her.
You’re not alone in this.
