Robert George Pickett
Robert George Pickett (February 11, 1938 – April 25, 2007)
He was known by the pen name Bobby "Boris" Pickett. Pickett was a singer, songwriter, actor and comedian known for co-writing and performing the 1962 hit novelty song "Monster Mash. The single became an instant million seller, reaching number 1 on the Billboard chart for two weeks before Halloween. With the success of "The Monster Mash", he released the follow-up hit "Monster's Holiday" in December 1962. His other monster-themed recordings included "Werewolf Watusi", "The Monster Swim", "Star Drek", "The Monster Rap" and "Climate Mash" released in 2005. Pickett also appeared in several classic film genres: beach movie, It's a Bikini World (1967); biker, Chrome and Hot Leather (1971); horror, Deathmaster (1972) and the sci-fi comedy film, Lobster Man From Mars (1989). On April 25, 2007, Pickett died in Los Angeles, California from leukemia at the age of 69. He was cremated.
