Not every kid shows up to school

Not every kid shows up to school with the same support waiting for them at home. Some come back to empty houses. Some don’t have someone asking about their day. Some don’t have the supplies or the routines. Some are just trying to make it through.

This is why I remind my kids to be kind. To sit with the lonely kid. To smile at the one who looks nervous. To share when they can. Because sometimes school is the only safe and steady place a child gets in their day.

And that one act of kindness could be what makes them feel seen.
