Platoon

"Platoon" is a 1986 American war film written and directed by Oliver Stone. Set during the Vietnam War, the film is loosely based on Stone's own experiences as a U.S. infantryman. "Platoon" stars Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger, Willem Dafoe, and Forest Whitaker. It is renowned for its gritty realism, intense combat sequences, and unflinching portrayal of the moral ambiguities and psychological toll of war. "Platoon" won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and is considered one of the greatest war films ever made.
