SUN HALO GLOWING OVER THE FOREST SKY

SUN HALO GLOWING OVER THE FOREST SKY

☀️🌈
📍 Boreal Forest Region, Northern Hemisphere

A perfect ring of light surrounds the Sun high above the treetops, creating a glowing circle .
This is a 22-degree halo, a real atmospheric phenomenon caused by sunlight passing through millions of tiny ice crystals in high, thin clouds.

The crystals bend (refract) the light at a specific angle, forming a bright circular halo with subtle rainbow tones. These halos often appear when cirrostratus clouds move in ahead of changing weather, so spotting one can mean a system is on the way.
