Kasey Rogers

Kasey Rogers (born Josie Imogene Rogers, 1925–2006) — the charming Missouri native with bright red hair and warm, sophisticated presence who became unforgettable as Louise Tate, the stylish, dignified, and wealthy wife of Darrin's boss Larry Tate on the legendary ABC sitcom Bewitched (1966–1972), taking over the role from Irene Vernon in Season Three and remaining through the remainder of its run in 33 episodes. Originally known as Laura Elliott in her late 1940s Hollywood career, she changed her name to Kasey Rogers (a childhood nickname from her baseball-playing days) in 1956, and was cast as Louise Tate without an audition due to her popular work as Barbara Parkins' long-suffering mother on Peyton Place (1964), where she originally wore a black bouffant wig to resemble the first Louise Tate before eventually removing it once firmly established in the role. Her early career included the memorable role of Miriam, the unfaithful wife of Farley Granger in Alfred Hitchcock's classic thriller Strangers on a Train (1951), along with appearances in Denver & Rio Grande and The File On Thelma Jordon. After Bewitched, she mostly retired from acting and turned to writing, collaborating with her close companion Mark Wood on The Bewitched Cookbook: Magic in the Kitchen (1996) and several crafts and interior design books based on the show, including Create a Bewitched Fall-O-Ween, Halloween Crafts: Eerily Elegant Decor, and Character Wreaths: 12 Holiday Projects for Year Round Decor. Kasey Rogers passed away on July 6, 2006, after a long battle with cancer that ultimately cleared her, but a stroke caused by radiation damage to her carotid artery took her life, leaving behind a legacy as the beloved second Louise Tate from the classic 1960s-70s TV series.
