Alexa Kenin
Alexa Kenin (September 1, 1962 – September 10, 1985), a gifted actress whose talent and presence graced film, television, and stage during a brief but memorable career.Alexa made her debut at just 10 years old in the television movie The House Without a Christmas Tree opposite Jason Robards, and went on to appear in notable TV movies including Word of Honor with Karl Malden and A Piano for Mrs. Cimino alongside Bette Davis. She also starred in five ABC Afterschool Specials, including The Amazing Cosmic Awareness of Duffy Moon and Movie Star's Daughter, captivating audiences with her youthful charisma and versatility.
At 15, Kenin made her stage debut in the New York Public Theater’s production of John Guare’s Landscape of the Body, performing alongside Shirley Knight and F. Murray Abraham, followed by a role in Phoenix Theater’s The Elusive Angel with Brad Davis. Her film credits include Little Darlings with Tatum O’Neal, Honkytonk Man with Clint Eastwood, Animal Behavior, and the cult classic Pretty in Pink with Molly Ringwald and Jon Cryer, which was dedicated to her memory upon its release.
Tragically, Alexa passed away at the age of 23 due to complications from asthma. She is laid to rest at New Montefiore Cemetery in West Babylon, New York. Her talent, warmth, and promise remain remembered and cherished.
