JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR
"JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR" (1973)
MY THOUGHTS:
This is the musical that made the world stand up and take notice of Andrew Lloyd Webber! It was a sensation on the London stage, then Broadway and in touring companies, and finally, on film. The lyrics and the music are quite compelling, and they tell the story of Jesus's crucifixion so beautifully, that it needs nothing but "ruins" as a stage and minimal fuss to keep the viewer captivated. The tale and how it is told is more than enough. The talented cast does an amazing job, especially with the songs which would stretch any range, but are delivered so (pitch) perfectly. It can be viewed by the whole family and enjoyed year after year. Very much worth the watch!
