Lonely Are the Brave


 "Lonely Are the Brave" is a 1962 Western drama film directed by David Miller and starring Kirk Douglas, Gena Rowlands, Walter Matthau, and George Kennedy.

The story follows Jack Burns (Kirk Douglas), a rugged and independent cowboy who refuses to conform to modern society's rules and norms. When Burns learns that his old friend Paul Bondi (Michael Kane) has been arrested for aiding illegal immigrants, he embarks on a mission to help him escape from jail. However, Burns soon finds himself pursued by Sheriff Morey Johnson (Walter Matthau) and his deputies, leading to a dramatic and tragic showdown.

"Lonely Are the Brave" is considered one of the standout Western films of the 1960s.
