Gewoon aanvaarden is genoeg.

Man hƶrt Gesang. In weiƟen Kleidchen kommen Kinder singend. Sie tragen kleine KrƤnze in den Haaren. Und Knaben, runde Weihrauchkessel schwingend, im Spitz...

Bergenshus Castle (Bergen, Norway)

Afbeelding
Bergenshus Castle (Bergen, Norway) The castle complex, which was primarily a royal farm, was built on Holmen north of the pier with the long side facing VƄgen. The location gave a good overview of the approach from the city fjord. Northeast of the castle is a mountain ridge where the former Sverresborg castle was built. Sverresborg and the facility at Holmen were separated by a marshy area. KongsgƄrden in Bergen was laid out by Ƙystein Magnusson at the beginning of the 12th century. The original royal court had wooden buildings. HƄkon HƄkonsson built the facility in stone, and it was further developed by Magnus the Lawmender and Eirik Magnusson around 1290. Eventually, the royal farm was expanded into a larger fortification and became Bergenhus around the year 1500. From the 1600s onwards, the facility was expanded and further developed. Norway's orientation towards the islands in the west led to Bergen emerging as Norway's largest and most important city in the 13th century. K...

Katharine of Aragon

Afbeelding
Katharine of Aragon was very fond of the company of monkeys, perhaps because these cute little animals reminded her of her homeland, Spain. Monkey's were particularly prominent in the southern province of Andalusia, where Katharine lived before she left for England in 1501. Monkey's were among the most common pet animals, only the rich could afford them in their menagerie, so they became regal status symbols. The royal monkeys were also portrayed in art. Katharine of Aragon was painted with her pet capuchin monkey in a miniature by Lucas Horenbout, official court painter, circa 1525. In the painting, the monkey is being offered a coin, which he ignores. Instead, the monkey reaches out for the jeweled crucifix that Queen Katharine wears at her breast. The interpretation here is plain ~ Katharine’s creature expresses his obedience to the church by recognizing that the cross is more precious than money. . Zwei Lieder
