Do you ever hold a baby and just remember?
Do you ever hold a baby and just remember?
The weight of time in your arms,
how small life once felt,
how fast it all went.
Do you ever feel your past
resting quietly against your chest—
late nights, first steps,
a house that once felt louder?
Do you ever catch yourself rocking
not just the baby,
but the years?
Because when you hold them,
you’re holding echoes—
of who you were,
of who you loved,
of moments that never really left.
And maybe that’s why grandparents hold on
a little longer.
Not because they don’t trust time—
but because they’ve learned
how quickly it moves.
