Not everyone will understand your kids

Not everyone will understand your kids.

Not their big feelings.
Not their quiet ways.
Not their wild joy or tender hearts.

But some people do.

They see your children as whole humans, not inconveniences.
They don’t try to correct them, toughen them up, or compare them to someone else’s kid.
They sit on the floor.
They listen.
They show up because they want to, not because they feel obligated.

And if you’re a parent, you feel it immediately.
The exhale.
The safety.
The relief of knowing your child is seen the way you see them.

Those people are rare.
And when you find them, you hold them close.

That’s the village everyone talks about.
Not loud.
Not flashy.
Just steady, loving, and real.
