I turned out fine

 “I turned out fine” isn’t a good reason to keep doing what hurt you.

It’s not a badge of honor to carry pain quietly just because you survived it.

You deserved better.
Your kids do too.

Just because something was normal back then doesn’t mean it was right.
Healing means having the courage to break the cycle.
It means choosing patience when yelling feels easier.
It means apologizing when your parents never did.
It means learning what love looks like without fear attached.

You didn’t go through all that just to pass it down.
You went through it so your children wouldn’t have to.

And that, to me, is what real strength looks like.
