We can’t expect our kids to be kind

We can’t expect our kids to be kind

if we’re not showing them what kindness looks like.

If we want them to treat others with respect,
we have to watch how we speak about people.
Even the ones who frustrate us.
Even the ones who are different from us.

If we want them to be inclusive,
we need to stop making jokes at other people’s expense.
Stop judging strangers out loud.
Stop picking apart things that don’t fit into our version of “normal.”

Because they’re always watching.
Always listening.
Always learning what’s okay by how we act not just what we say.

We want to raise kids who lead with love.
Who stand up for others.
Who choose empathy over cruelty.
But that starts with us.

If we want to raise kind humans,
we have to be kind humans first.
