Joanna Moore
Today we remember Joanna Moore (born Dorothy Joanne Cook, November 10, 1934 – November 22, 1997), an accomplished actress whose work spanned both television and film. Best known for her recurring role as Peggy McMillan on The Andy Griffith Show, Moore also appeared in numerous other TV shows and movies throughout her career, showcasing her versatility and charm on screen.Offscreen, Moore’s life was marked by her role as a mother to actors Tatum O’Neal and Griffin O’Neal, from her marriage to Ryan O’Neal (1963–1967). Her personal journey included both triumphs and challenges, but her warmth, talent, and dedication to her family left a lasting impression.
Originally interred in California, Moore’s ashes were later moved to Oak Grove Cemetery in Americus, Georgia, where fans and admirers continue to honor her memory. Her legacy lives on through her work and her children’s accomplishments in the entertainment industry.
