he Myth of Perseus and Medusa

🔘The Myth of Perseus and Medusa🔘
•In Greek mythology, Medusa
is described as a winged female with living venomous snakes in place of hair.
🐍Medusa was one of three sisters, the gorgons, and those who gazed into her eyes would turn to stone.
.
•To save his mother, Perseus asked Athena and Hermes for help, together with the nymphs, they provided winged sandals to fly him to the end of the world where gorgons lived, a cap that made him invisible, a sword and a mirrored shield.
🐍Because the gaze of Medusa turned all who looked at her to stone, Perseus guided himself by her reflection in a shield given him by Athena and beheaded Medusa as she slept.
•He then returned to Seriphus and rescued his mother (Danaë) by turning Polydectes and his supporters to stone at the sight of Medusa’s head.
