Vera Cruz
"Vera Cruz" is a 1954 American Western film directed by Robert Aldrich and starring Gary Cooper and Burt Lancaster. The film is set in Mexico during the 1860s and follows the story of two American adventurers who become involved in a plot to transport a shipment of gold to Emperor Maximilian's troops.The plot revolves around Ben Trane (Gary Cooper), a former Confederate soldier, and Joe Erin (Burt Lancaster), a roguish gunfighter, who are hired by a French countess named Marie Duvarre (Denise Darcel) to lead a convoy of gold to the Emperor's forces. Along the way, they encounter various obstacles, including Mexican revolutionaries led by the charismatic General Ramírez (played by César Romero), as well as betrayal and treachery within their own ranks.
