Lady Windermere's Fan

"Lady Windermere's Fan" is a 1925 silent film adaptation of Oscar Wilde's play of the same name. The film was directed by Ernst Lubitsch and starred Ronald Colman, May McAvoy, Bert Lytell, and Irene Rich.

The story revolves around Lady Windermere, who suspects her husband of having an affair with a mysterious woman. Her jealousy and suspicion lead to a series of misunderstandings and revelations, ultimately challenging the characters' perceptions of love, loyalty, and social propriety.

Ernst Lubitsch's direction and the performances of the cast were particularly acclaimed. While the film's approach to the material differed slightly from the original play, it retained much of Wilde's wit and charm.

"Lady Windermere's Fan" is regarded as one of the standout adaptations of Wilde's work and remains a classic example of silent cinema from the 1920s.
