Stella Dallas

"Stella Dallas" is a 1925 silent drama film directed by Henry King. The film stars Belle Bennett in the title role of Stella Dallas, along with Ronald Colman and Lois Moran.

The story revolves around Stella Dallas, a working-class woman from a small New England town who aspires to climb the social ladder. Stella marries Stephen Dallas (Ronald Colman), a wealthy man from a prominent family, and they have a daughter named Laurel. However, Stella's crude manners and lack of refinement clash with the upper-class society that Stephen comes from, leading to tension in their marriage.

The 1925 silent version remains a classic of early American cinema and continues to be remembered for its poignant portrayal of a mother's love and sacrifice.
