John Loder
John Loder was born in 1898 in Knightsbridge, London, England and served in the British Army in WWI and was even a prisoner of war. In the later 1920s, he began appearing in German films and then went to England and continued in his movie career. Loder traveled to Hollywood and made a number of films before returning to Britain in 1932 and he had the role of Elsa Lanchester's Anne of Cleves' love interest in Alexander Korda's "The Private Life of Henry VIII" in 1933. He continued in British movies working with everyone from Margaret Lockwood to Alfred Hitchcock. Loder moved to the US and established himself as a reliable B film actor and then was contracted to Warner Brothers. He was married to French actress, Micheline Chierel from 1936-1941 and Hedy Lamarr from 1943-1947 having three children, and he was married three more times. He was a British citizen and then became an American citizen and then a British citizen again. Loder made his last film in 1971 and he died at the age of 90 in 1988. He has 118 film and television credits.
