USED PEOPLE
"USED PEOPLE" --- (1992) ---
MY THOUGHTS:
This isn't a "chick flick", but it is definitely a "woman's movie." And yes, there is a difference between the two. The film has a marvelous ensemble cast of very talented ladies. They all play interesting, unique and fully actualized women, with each turning in a memorable performance. (Marcia Gay Harden REALLY impressed me!) The men in the movie are seasoned actors who also do a great job. Everyone is the movie is going through some level of trauma or the loss of a loved one. In spite of that fact, and in spite of sharing the same pain, they are each at odds with the world around them and the people in it. It is a great little movie that is all about women. That fact alone makes it worth the watch!
