I used to think

I used to think love was something you figured out early in life.

That once you understood it, that was it—you knew what it meant, how it worked, what it felt like.

But I was wrong.

Because the love I feel now… the love I feel for you… is different from anything I’ve ever known before.

It’s softer, but somehow stronger.
It’s quieter, but somehow deeper.
It doesn’t ask for anything, and yet it gives everything.

Sometimes I sit here, doing the simplest things—knitting, folding laundry, just being—and I realize something that catches me off guard every time.

Everything I’ve learned in life… every lesson, every mistake, every moment that shaped me…

has found its purpose in loving you.

All the patience I didn’t have before—I have now.
All the understanding I had to grow into—it’s here now.
All the love I didn’t always know how to give—it flows so easily now.

And it feels like this is what it was all for.

Not the rush. Not the struggle. Not the proving.

Just this.

Loving you, in the quiet, steady way that finally feels like home.
