It’s not my turn to sleep in

It’s not my turn to sleep in. It’s not my turn to chase dreams without checking the clock. It’s not my turn to put my wants and needs at the top of the list. But it is my turn. It’s my turn to rock little bodies that only want mama. To answer a thousand questions before 9 a.m. To pour my love into tiny moments that may never be seen but are always felt. It’s my turn to witness the magic of firsts. To hold hands that still reach for me without hesitation. To soak up this exhausting, beautiful, raw season of motherhood. This won’t always be my turn. But right now, it is. And I’m holding it close. Even on the hard days. Even when I miss the old me. Because one day, I’ll miss this me too.

She’s half little gymnast

She’s half little gymnast half princess one minute she’s flipping off the couch doing tiny jumps like her feet can’t stay still turning my living room into her own little arena landing crooked then clapping for herself like she just won something the next she’s spinning in circles holding the edges of her dress like she’s in a world softer than this one like there’s music only she can hear she’s scraped knees and glitter trails fearless enough to fall soft enough to still believe and i won’t ask her to pick one because girls like her were never meant to

Little House on the Prairie

So I’ve been rewatching Little House on the Prairie and suddenly feeling like I was born in the wrong century. I loved it as a kid, but I think I appreciate it even more now. Everything just looks so simple. Family dinners, neighbors helping each other, no social media or spam calls. I told someone the other day I wanted to live back then. They didn’t even blink before saying something like “You’d last about five minutes without Wi-Fi, hot showers, and an indoor toilet.” Rude. But also….accurate. Okay, let’s be honest. I don’t actually want to travel by wagon, haul water from a well, or use an outhouse, but there is something beautiful about the way they valued family, faith, and community. The way they cared and showed up for each other is something I wish we could bring back. Or maybe I’m just crushing on Charles Ingalls in his suspenders. Either way, if you want something different from the usual noise, something people online would probably call “wholesome,” and something tha...

His early film work showcased his commanding voice and ability to dominate a scene without overshadowing the story. Scott’s most iconic role came as General George S. Patton in Patton (1970), a performance that won him the Academy Award for Best Actor—though he famously refused the award, criticizing the Oscars as a “meat parade.” This act cemented his reputation as fiercely independent and uninterested in Hol...

Before having kids

Before having kids you see other moms talking about how they didn’t feel like themself after giving birth but until you’re there for yourself it’s hard to truly understand how long it actually takes to feel like yourself again after having a baby. They’ll warn you about the sleepless nights. The diaper changes. The cluster feeding. But nothing can prepare you for the way your sense of self disappears. You become a body that gives and gives. A body that’s not just yours anymore. Especially if you’re breastfeeding. You miss yourself. The old version of you. The one who could shower without rushing. The one who felt confident in her skin. The one who didn’t have to plan her day around feeding schedules. They say it gets better. And it does. But no one says it might take years. No one tells you that healing isn’t just physical. If you’re in that space right now, I want you to know you’re not alone. You’re not failing because you don’t feel “back to normal.” You’re rebuilding. Slowly....

Wait till you have kids that behave just like you

“Wait till you have kids that behave just like you.” I did. I had the loud one. The sensitive one. The stubborn one. The one who feels everything so deeply it spills out in tears and laughter. The one who needs extra cuddles, extra patience, extra reassurance. The one who shuts down when it all feels like too much. And I realized… that was me. That is me. And suddenly, I saw myself through gentler eyes. I saw how easy it is to love someone like that. How easy it is to be kind. To offer softness instead of shame. To hold space for the chaos and the calm. Loving them helped me learn to love the parts of myself I once tried to hide. They didn’t make me harder to love. They just reminded me I never was.

Officially in my private mama era

Officially in my private mama era. No updates unless I choose to share them. No explanations. No justifications. Right now, it’s about protecting my little bubble. Choosing softness over performance. Peace over pressure. My family comes first. Our emotions, our rest, our joy. Our boundaries aren’t up for debate. Not everyone needs a front row seat to our lives. We’re allowed to grow in quiet. To heal in silence. To celebrate privately. Because right now, privacy feels like love. And protecting our peace is the most sacred thing I can do as a mom.
