On a mission trip to Latin America, Rose McGowan met a group of girls living in a disadvantaged area who had no access to school. Without waiting for the media, she bought books, hired local translators, and sat down every afternoon to teach them how to read and write in English and Spanish.

A little girl hugged Rose and said: “I want to be like you – to be able to read, to speak, and to be brave.”

Rose looked at her with a gentle smile:

“You don’t have to be like me. You just have to be yourself – and that’s enough to change the world.”"
