Men's French silk and leather shoes
Men's French silk and leather shoes, circa 1690–1700
.
The French Court loved excessively ornamented clothing and accessories, including the men!
Designed to showcase the luxurious embroideries, and the silk damask fabrics of the century, with impossibly tight breeches, skirted waistcoats, and shapely shoes, the men didn't leave all the opulence and extravagance to the women!
The fashionable eighteenth–century man was expected to convey a certain grace, and was required to enjoy the fine arts, music, and dancing.
The romantic curves, and delicate embroidery on these shoes, encourages the voyeuristic eye, to look and admire, the man's shapely calves and legs........Oh~La~La
