  Kids don’t need the latest toys or the fanciest trips to feel loved. They need you. Your time. Your laughter. Your presence. They don’t care if you’re at a five-star resort or in your living room with a blanket fort and snacks. What matters most to them is that you’re there, making memories with them, no matter how simple. Because when you show up with love and intention, even the ordinary becomes magical. You are the best part of their day. Always have been.

It’s the last year you’ll ever feel them this small, and the first year you’ll start to see glimpses of who they’re becoming. 12 is sacred. And it goes by quicker than you’re ready for.

  I’m not trying to outdo any other mom. I’m not watching how anyone else is parenting, because I’m too focused on raising my own. My child isn’t in a race. They’re not behind. They’re not ahead. They’re exactly where they need to be. There’s no trophy at the end of this. Just little humans growing up feeling safe, loved, and supported. I want that for mine. And I want that for yours too. There’s room for every child to thrive. There’s room for every mom to shine. This isn’t a competition. It’s a community. And I’m cheering for us all.

  Stanley "Stan" Winston (April 7, 1946 – June 15, 2008) He was best known for his work in the Terminator series, the first three Jurassic Park films, Aliens, the first two Predator films, Inspector Gadget, Iron Man and Edward Scissorhands. He won four Academy Awards for his work. Winston, a frequent collaborator with director James Cameron, owned several effects studios, including Stan Winston Digital. The established areas of expertise for Winston were in makeup, puppets and practical effects, but he had recently expanded his studio to encompass digital effects as well. S chitterende soapserie speelt zich af van de jaren 1860 tot de jaren 1880.  Miriam Hopkins wijst de oude verloofde George Brent af om met een andere man te trouwen.  Haar neef, Bette Davis, houdt ook van Brent en "troost" hem voordat hij ten oorlog trekt.  Hij sterft in de oorlog en laat haar zwanger achter.  Ze heeft in het geheim de baby en vertelt het aan niemand behalve Hopkins.  Hopkins, nu een rijke weduwe, overtuigt Davis om haar het kind te laten adopteren, zodat ze een naam krijgt.  Ze doet het en ziet hoe haar kind opgroeit en Hopkins behandelt als haar moeder en Davis met minachting als een oude meid. Het verhaal is erg schuimend, maar het script heeft prachtige, geletterde dialogen en de foto is zeer uitgebreid gemaakt.  Maar wat het plaatje echt overbrengt, is het voortreffelijke acteerwerk van Hopkins en Davis.  Ze haatten elkaar allebei hartstochtelijk buiten het scherm, maar je zou het nooit op het scherm weten.  De scènes wa...

We denderen maar door en zijn we zo gefocust op langetermijndoelen dat de kleine momenten ons door de vingers glippen. Een zonnestraal die door de wolken breekt, de schaterlach van een kind of een onverwachtse ontmoeting. Maar het zijn juist deze momenten die het leven magisch maken. De kleine momenten waar je achteraf met intens plezier aan terug denkt. Wat zou er gebeuren als je uit de ratrace stapt? Als je stopt met hollen en vliegen? Misschien maak je wat minder snel promotie, moet je iets langer sparen voor een nieuw huis of wordt er vandaag een keer niet gestofzuigd. Is dat erg? Bewandel gestaag je pad en neem onderweg de tijd om van het uitzicht te genieten. Ook dan kom je waar je wezen wilt en heb je volop genoten van je reis. Dat is wat het leven magisch maakt!

  Mom guilt is so real. It shows up in the quiet moments. When I’m questioning if I did enough, if I was patient enough, if I showed up the way they needed me to. But I’m slowly learning to give myself the same grace I give everyone else. The same softness I offer to my kids when they have a hard day. The same understanding I’d give a friend who’s just doing her best. Because I am doing my best. Even on the messy days. Even when I don’t feel like it’s enough. I’m learning that being a good mom doesn’t mean being perfect. It just means loving them through it all. And loving myself a little more too.

  Richard James Bright (June 28, 1937 – February 18, 2006) Bright began his career doing live television in Manhattan at the age of 18 and made his film debut in Robert Wise's Odds Against Tomorrow (1959). Rode Klaver - Rijkdom Verscholen tussen het lange gras in bermen en velden staan de ronde kopjes van de rode klaver te glunderen. Het is een kruid wat snel over het hoofd gezien wordt. Maar vergis je niet, rode klaver heeft een indrukwekkende cv. Zo is ze een rijke voedingsbron voor bijen en hommels en maak je er een krachtige hoestsiroop van. Als Rode Klaver op je pad komt herinnert ze je aan alle rijkdom in je leven. Rijkdom die niet alleen voortkomt uit geld, maar vooral uit de kleine dingen en momentjes in het leven. Maar laat het nu net deze dingen zijn die we vaak voor lief nemen of over het hoofd zien. Rode Klaver laat je weten dat je je niet moet focussen op wat je mist in het leven, maar vaker stil te staan en te genieten van de rijkdom die er al is.

  Lately I’ve come across more and more posts from people who don’t have children, sharing how they think many parents regret having kids. And while I understand where that perspective might come from, I don’t believe it reflects what most of us feel. Yes, there are hard days. There are overwhelming moments. There is exhaustion and sacrifice and so many times where we question if we’re doing it right. But then there are the little hands reaching for yours. The sleepy “I love yous.” The giggles that fill the room. Those are the moments that bring everything into focus. Parenting is the hardest thing I have ever done. But it’s also the most beautiful, fulfilling, and soul-shifting thing I’ve ever been a part of. My kids are not the thing that holds me back. They are the reason I keep going. They are the best part of my life. And I would choose this love again and again.
