Adam's rib

You can't really have a discussion about classic films, and remarkable performances, and not include Spencer Tracy & Katherine Hepburn; both individually, and as the dynamic duo they were. I have been a fan of their movies since I was 8 years old. This is one of their best collaborations.

This 1949 Romantic / Comedy was co-written by Ruth Gordon and directed by George Cukor. It is tied for 1st place (with "Desk Set") in the ranking, of my favorite movies of theirs. Both are still relatable, and on-topic. But they were ahead of their time back then, showing women as accepted equals to men, while promoting very feministic views and liberated characters. It was good thing to have modeled for me. I enjoyed re-watching them, and their amazing supporting cast...which includes, one of my all-time favorite actresses: Judy Holliday!! Although it is not currently streaming on any platforms, there are several that you can rent it from.
SYNOPSIS: "A courtroom rivalry finds its way into the household when prosecuting lawyer Adam Bonner (Spencer Tracy) faces off against his wife, Amanda (Katharine Hepburn), who happens to be a defense attorney. Working on opposite sides of a lawsuit where a woman (Judy Holliday) has shot her cheating husband (Tom Ewell), Adam and Amanda are both determined to win the case, and their home becomes the setting for comical showdowns, with neither spouse willing to relent."
